Arwood is a newwalk renovation project located at 805 Whitaker Street in Historic Downtown Savannah. This venerable 9,500 square foot structure was built in 1926 and currently houses twelve one-bedroom condos. With front windows opening up to the middle of Forsyth Park, it’s difficult for students or young professionals to find a better location. Sustainable practices are incorporated in every aspect of the renovation, some of which include:

  • 50,370 gallons of water saved per year (enough to supply one condo with water for more than 6 years!) through low-flow faucets and shower heads, dual flush toilets and rainwater harvesting.
  • Energy consumption is expected to be reduced by 30% through outfitting each unit with EnergyStar appliances, high-efficiency lighting, and motion sensors.
  • IceStone countertops made of 100% recycled concrete and glass
  • All occupied space has a daylight view
  • Reflective roof reduces heat impact on the building
  • All old appliances donated to Habitat for Humanity.
  • One of the first recycling programs for a condo association in Savannah.
